Teenage Engineering’s unique array of instruments has always been intriguing, and its new Field Desk is the perfect place to store them. The streamlined furnishing is a significant upgrade from the average table.

The sleek new release is built around 75% recycled CIRCAL anodized aluminum rails courtesy of hydro, a Scandinavian manufacturer whose adherence to sustainability is made even more evident with this partnership. Topping the rails is a 47″ hunk of double-sided formica birch plywood for maximum sturdiness. Moreover, this is bound to come in handy once the top side gets scuffed following years of use, allowing you to flip it over and practically gift yourself a brand-new table.

Although the desk comes at a pretty hefty price (listed at $1,599), you will need to assemble it yourself upon buying it, but don’t confuse this for your average piece of IKEA furniture, as its construction ensures it’s built to last. And while it does not come equipped with any drawers or additional storage solution, the brand claims it will soon offer modular accessories that you can add to the Field Desk using nothing but M5 screws. These enhancements include anything from storage trays to tape holders.
