Tamiya RC Ford GT

Category: Gear

Originally released in 2006, Ford’s GT was built to celebrate the brand’s racing history and its Le Mans-winning GT40. And it’s since become a legend in its own right. Now, Tamiya is paying homage to the GT supercar with this 1/24th scale replica remote controlled car.

Tamiya actually enlisted the help of Ford in designing this RC kit, traveling to Southern California to examine a real-world example to make sure they got every detail exactly right. And they managed that brilliantly, from the iconic curves, to the side air intakes, to the window that looks in on its 647-horsepower engine. Of course, this replica doesn’t have that same power, but (if it wasn’t for the size difference) the appearance might make onlookers do a double take. The DIY kit, along with a set of spot-on decals, will be available soon for $54.

Purchase: $54
