The Heuer Carrera is one of the most-legendary racing chronographs in history, having been designed by Jack Heuer himself back in 1963. Now the watch has added yet another chapter to its motorsports legacy by partnering with fellow iconic Carrera-maker Porsche on the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph.
The special edition chrono features the same specs as TAG Heuer’s standard Carrera — 44mm case, ceramic tachymeter bezel, HEUER02 automatic movement — but adds several Porsche-inspired style cues to the formula. “PORSCHE” script in red adorns the bezel, numerical indices running up to 60 are meant to invoke the numbers on a Porsche dashboard, the dial is crafted in a custom asphalt texture that resembles a road, the custom rotor mimics the design of a Porsche steering wheel, and the available black leather strap recalls Porsche upholstery. And since TAG Heuer and Porsche are partners in Formula E racing, this collaboration has more substance behind it than your typical corporate team-up. The TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph is available now for $5,850 on leather or $6,050 on a stainless steel bracelet.
