James Bond has strictly been an Omega man for the past 25 years, but the character previously wore several other watch brands, including Rolex, Breitling, and Seiko. One of the coolest references that 007 ever strapped to his wrist was a TAG Heuer “Night Diver,” a black PVD-coated dive watch with a fully-lumed dial worn briefly by Timothy Dalton in 1987’s The Living Daylights. Now, that watch is back in a modernized and upgraded form with the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Night Diver.
The new Night Diver has a 43mm stainless steel case that’s been coated all over with black DLC. The bezel is now in black ceramic, and the crystal is flat sapphire. The white opaline dial has the typical horizontal striations of the Aquaracer line, but it’s been fully treated with Super-LumiNova to glow green in low light. Elegant black gold plating adorns the hands and indices, while the black rubber strap features a black DLC stainless steel clasp that’s equipped with TAG Heuer’s new sliding fine adjustment system. Finally, the watch is powered by the in-house Calibre 5 automatic movement — a notable step up from Bond’s ’80s quartz. The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 Night Diver retails for $3,350.
