Nestled into a hillside on the Greek island of Syros in the Aegean Sea is a brilliant home built by the architectural firm Block722. Built with the intentions of maximizing the views of Plagia Bay, the home’s purpose is to unify all the rooms in the house toward the sea. without creating a voluminous structure.
From the looks of it, Block722 was highly successful in their endeavor. It hosts four separate guest houses surrounding an interior pool alongside open outdoor areas for recreation, open floor plans in the common areas, and large glass doors and windows to maximize the view and envelope the property both inside and out with fresh ocean air. There’s also an infinity pool that drapes the cliffside overlooking the bay as well. Additional outdoor common spaces include open courtyards that offer both protection from the sun and areas for sunbathing. And since it’s situated on a mountain, the magnificent topography of the island is put on display for residents too.
