Swiss Protection Socks

No one wants to deal with heavy, bulky shoes when hitting the trails, but even the best lightweight trail runners can still be bothersome. When you’re looking for the ultimate barefoot experience, only the Swiss Protection Socks will do.

Made by the folks at the Swiss Barefoot company, wearing these socks is the closest thing you’ll get to naked freedom of bare feet, without sacrificing some of the protection provided by shoes. The socks are constructed from 10% cotton, 8% spandex, and 32% polyester. The secret ingredient comes from the remaining 50%, which is constructed from kevlar. Working in conjunction with the reinforced PVC laminate bottom, this construction blend helps protect from cuts and injury, while still providing a more natural stride than your typical rubber outsoles on running shoes. The socks are available in both a long and short version, and start at $78. [Purchase]
