The legendary Ford GT40 MKI is the champ that vanquished its elite competition in both the 1968 and 1968 24 Hours of Le Mans races. To celebrate the famed dream machine, Superformance has joined forces with Gulf Oil and Safir GT40 to produce 50 limited edition Gulf Racing 50th Anniversary GT40 MKI vehicles.

Each one of these cars will be an exact replica of the Le Mans-winning champion, being as true to the original chassis number 1075 as humanly possible. The genius engineers at Superformance captured just about every detail of the original race car and over 90% of the replica’s parts can be swapped out with the original vehicle. They used the same exact design of the monocoque unibody chassis, created from more than 244 bent or laser-cut parts. With the ‘Tool Room Reconfiguration’ optional package, you can add period-correct Lexan windows, coolers, racing tanks, a matching guitar, and more. You also have the option of added modern features including air conditioning, Bilstein shocks, and Wilwood disc brakes. The recommended engine is a 1969-spec 302 Ford engine with Gurney Westlake heads, but you have the option of dropping in a Ford-based 289 or 351W small block. The 50th anniversary GT40 MKI replica starts at $179,995.
