Strike Smart Baseball

We can remember being out on the diamond when we were kids and arguing over who could throw the fastest. The problem was, it was all just talk. At the time, we had no way to prove it one way or another. Now, it looks like that’s all going to change thanks to the creation of the Strike Smart Baseball.

Billed as “the world’s first smart baseball,” the Strike does away with the necessity for all the expensive equipment usually required to track pitching statistics and whittles them down into tech that’s fitted inside the ball. Paired with an easy-to-use smartphone app, this throwable wonder can track speed, trajectory, and the spin rate of every pitch thrown. In fact, it even maps the pitches in 3D and can use that data comparatively, showing the user pitch after pitch up against one another. And it charges up wirelessly, so you’ll never have to worry about any stray wires or small parts going missing. The Strike Smart Baseball will retail for around $110, but you can back them on Kickstarter for less. [Purchase]
