It’s no secret that Stranger Things has become a cultural icon during the tenure of its televised run. Popularity was never an issue for the show; even so, the interest surrounding the otherworldly happenings in Hawkins, Indiana has drastically increased with each impending season. Now, its showrunners are hoping to transport fans back to 1985 with a unique ‘Drive-Into’ Experience.
This Stranger Things-themed drive-in will take over one of Downtown LA’s unused venues in October, providing retro visuals, scares, and special effects for those who want to enjoy a night at the mall — Hawkins style. Each experience will take over an hour to complete and will feature immersive takes on the show’s Starcourt shopping center, as well as its alternative reality within the Upside Down. “Unforeseen occurrences” will clue you in on Hawkins’ history, and provide you with a living, breathing world that you can explore from the comfort (and confinement) of your own personal vehicle.
