From sunglasses to suede boots, Steve McQueen kept it classy from head to toe, oozing a unique style of his own. For those looking to own a taste of McQueen’s swagger, Phillips, a market leader in watch auctions, announced the sale of a historically significant timepiece previously owned by ‘The King of Cool’ himself.

Thought to have been lost in a fire, Steve McQueen’s Rolex Submariner Watch will be up for auction this year. McQueen actually gave the watch to his personal stuntman, Loren Janes. Inscribed on the caseback it reads, “To Loren, the best damn stuntman in the world. Steve.” McQueen requested Janes to be his stunt double as many times as their schedules allowed. Of the 27 films McQueen starred in, Janes made McQueen look even cooler in 19 of them, including Bullitt and The Getaway. Having graced the wrists of two indomitable men, this Rolex Submariner is an indispensable piece of cinema history. The auction will take place in New York on October 25th with an estimate of $300,000 to $600,000.
