Steve McQueen and the Bullitt Ford Mustang are inextricably linked to one another, thanks to their appearance together in what might be the greatest car movie of all time. But when Ford released the 2019 edition of the Bullitt Mustang, McQueen seemed to have been left out of the equation. Now, his son, Chad McQueen, and the folks at the Steeda tuning house have taken it upon themselves to set things right with the officially-licensed Steve McQueen Edition Bullitt Mustang.
Based on Ford’s 2019 release, this upgrade kit takes the already-killer pony car and elevates it to the nth degree – offering extensive alterations to the car’s performance while maintaining its iconic looks. For instance, it gets a comprehensively upgraded suspension, aerodynamic changes to the front fascia, special-edition engraved key fobs, and a performance-tuned powertrain with a cold air intake that boosts the horsepower to 500. Of course, for a little extra, you can add things like a carbon fiber driveshaft and a Steve McQueen Edition Whipple supercharger that boosts the output to 775 (and why wouldn’t you). If there ever was a fitting tribute to the King of Cool, this special edition Bullitt Mustang is it. Pricing starts at $20,995 ($67,590 including the car itself).
