Stay-brella Umbrella by Nendo

Some products don’t need to be made “smart” or given the ability to slice canned hams; they just need to get better. The umbrella, for instance, is one of those items that, it would seem, hasn’t maxed out its efficiency potential.

It’s with that in mind that we bring you news of the Stay-brella, an umbrella whose handle not only makes it stable to use, but also able to stand on its own when turned on its handle. Thanks to its weight-bearing, V-shaped handle, the Stay-brella hangs securely from tables or window sills and remains propped up on a wall when not in use. Japanese design firm Nendo is offering these in eight different colors, but for now, only in Japan. [Purchase]
