Killer Mike & State Bike Co. Built A One-Of-A-Kind BMX That Could Be Yours
Well known for speaking on political and community issues, Michael Santiago Render — better known by his stage name, “Killer Mike” — has been an outspoken activist in the fight against police brutality and systemic racism, among a slew of other causes and efforts. And the rapper and Netflix show host has now revealed his latest philanthropic endeavor: a two bike charity project done in collaboration with State Bicycle Co.
The project consists of two 26” 4130 Chromoly steel-framed BMX bikes with 175mm gold-anodized three-piece cranks and matching gold-anodized 6” bars on risers decorated in custom “Killer Mike x State Bicycle Co.” print. While one of the two custom bike examples is being given to the Atlanta-born musician and activist, the other of the two specimens is being raffled off online, where interested parties can enter by making a $10 donation to the Los Angeles Bicycle Academy: a youth community bike shop and education program for kids ages 8 to 18 that gives local kids a positive outlet and a productive way to occupy their time. The winner of the State Bicycle Co. x Killer Mike 26” BMX will be selected at random, with the drawing scheduled for June 27, 2020.
