Porsche Designed A 911-Inspired Starship For ‘Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’

After a whopping 40 years, the Star Wars Skywalker saga is finally coming to a close with the upcoming release of The Rise of Skywalker. To celebrate the massive milestone and the franchise’s iconography, Porsche and Lucasfilm have joined forces to create their very own starship, dubbed the Tri-Wing S-91x Pegasus Starfighter, to be unveiled at the film’s premiere as a fully-realized 5-foot model.

It makes sense that these two giants of design would team up, as Porsche’s sports cars and the ships of Star Wars are similarly iconic. And their design language blends beautifully, as can be seen in this ship’s sleek exterior, 911- and Taycan-inspired cockpit, and even its implied agility (a product of its silhouette and scale). As this 2-month collaborative project was only completed recently, it’s unlikely we’ll see it in the upcoming film — but that doesn’t mean this enticing spacefaring vessel will never be realized in the Star Wars mythos — be that on the big screen, on television, or even in an upcoming video game.
