Sportsmobile Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4
For more than 50 years Sportsmobile has been upgrading run-of-the-mill vans and turning them into outright adventure vehicles. By the looks of their newest release, the Sportsmobile Mercedes Sprinter 4×4, that trend is far from over.
Before it was worked on at all, the vehicle came with a capable 3.0-liter BlueTec V-6 engine that drives 188 horses and 325lb-ft of torque through a 5-speed automatic transmission. The team at Sportsmobile kept that power-plant, and instead focused their energy on the chassis and interior. Regarding the former, the team raised the front end of the car by 4.3-inches while only raising the back by 3.1. This discrepancy improved the van’s ramp angle by 20%, allowing travelers to take on even steeper slopes. As far as comfort is concerned, the team covered all their bases. The interior of the vehicle features a kitchenette stocked with a sink, refrigerator, microwave, and stove for cooking up meals on the road. For easy sleeping, the van boasts a fold down leather seat that turns into a bed, as well as a lift roof that opens up to reveal room for two extra beds.
