A long-time favorite when offering high-end bicycles at affordable prices, Specialized has just debuted its most advanced model yet. The Morgan Hill-based outfit has also been at the forefront of riding innovation since it debuted the first production mountain bike in 1981 and continues that forward-thinking approach still, recently unveiling the world’s fastest alloy-framed road bike.
Now, Specialized has outdone itself once again with the Diverge STR model, which features a higher rider seat and cutting-edge Future Shock technology in the front and rear of the FACT 11r carbon frameset to make cycling as effortless as possible. The unique setup gives you more control and efficiency without adding any extra weight and decreasing fatigue.
The new frame comes in three cycle options: Diverge SRT Expert, Diverge SRT Pro, and S-Works Diverge SRT, which each sport the S-Works carbon seatpost but have different tiers when it comes to the handlebars and saddle.
Available now via Specialized’s website, the Diverge STR can be bought as a frameset alone for $6,000 or as an assembled unit, with models ranging from $7,500 to $14,000.
