Creative Sound Blaster Roar SR20
When you’re, say, an NFL running back, defying the law is not a good thing. But when you’re the maker of a new Bluetooth wireless speaker, defying the “laws of acoustic engineering” is actually a big selling point. And that’s exactly what Creative Technology says it has done with the Sound Blaster Roar SR20.
This is a 5-driver high performance-focused speaker that apparently wowed the crowds at CES 2014, and Creative is so high on it, it says its main rivals in sound quality are existing home stereo systems. But the sleek metallic box measures only 2.2 x 7.9 x 4.5 inches and weighs 2.4 lbs., so that puts in direct competition with the plethora of wireless speakers on the market. The mini sound system includes features like a ROAR audio enhancement mode (hence the name), built-in voice recorder, speakerphone, and a handy siren for emergency situations among other things. This thing was engineered from the ground up with Creative’s expertise and experience in audio technology and speaker design, and the best part is no one ever gets arrested for breaking the laws of acoustic engineering.
