Sony SF-G Series TOUGH SD Cards

Sony has always been a top contender when it comes to data storage — especially in the realm of photography. But their competitors have always been hot on their heels. That looks to be changing, however, as the brand has truly set themselves apart with the unveiling of their SF-G Series of TOUGH SD Cards.

While these look and perform just as you might expect a normal SD card to (albeit a bit faster when it comes to data transfer speeds), their ‘TOUGH’ designation actually does mean something extraordinary. You see, these SD cards are IPX8 waterproof, sand/dust-proof (rated at IP6X), bend-resistant, can survive drops of up to five meters, and are said to be a whopping 18 times stronger than their traditional counterparts. But it doesn’t stop there — they’re also x-ray-proof, resistant to extreme temperatures, UV-resistant, not affected by magnets or static, and still boast writing and transfer speeds of up to 299MB/s. Perfect for adventure photography across all seven continents, these cards will be available in 32, 64, and 128 GB versions this October. Pricing has yet to be announced.
