It was only a matter time before Sony decided to introduce a follow up to their A7R flagship model, and that time is now. The Sony A7R II full-frame mirrorless camera is the latest and greatest from the tech giant.
The new shooter features a slew of updates, perhaps the most notable of which is the first of its kind sensor; a back illuminated full-frame Exmor CMOS with a 42-megapixel resolution. This new setup increases the ISO’s effective range to 102,400, which in turn allows for superior low light sensitivity. And that’s not all it does either. The A7R II is also equipped with 5-axis in-body image stabilization along with an updated XGA OLED Tru-Finder with the world’s highest viewfinder magnification – 0.78x. Of course it will also be able to do all things we’ve become accustomed to with these high-end cameras, including the ability to shoot and record in 4K video. The camera is gearing up for an August release date, and will carry a retail sticker price of $3,200. [Purchase]
