SOG Marks 35 Years Of Cutlery Excellence With A Top-Shelf Vision XR LTE Knife

Founded in Southern California in 1986 though now headquartered out of the Pacific Northwest, SOG — or the “Studies And Observations Group” – has spent the last three-and-a-half decades developing a reputation for uncompromising tools, knives, and EDC items. And with 2021 marking the Lynwood label’s 35th anniversary, SOG has opted to celebrate the occasion via a limited-edition top-shelf version of one of its most popular and capable knives, the Vision XR.

Christened the Vision XR LTE 35 Year Edition, the knife features a 3.36″ CRYO CTS XHP steel tanto blade that’s been cryogenically heat-treated and comes adorned in a special tiger-stripe titanium nitride-coated pattern finish — a nod to the tiger-striped camo worn by members of MACV-SOG during the Vietnam War. The blade is paired with a 4.65″ set of milled titanium handles with a micro-textured finish for added grip and SOG’s signature XR lock. The frame’s standard spacers have also been replaced with carbon fiber items. Measuring 8.01″ when open, the limited-edition knife tips the scales at just 5.12oz. Sold in a custom hard case with a special commemorative coin, each knife is individually serialized, denoting its production number out of the total 350 units. Available now, the SOG Vision XR LTE 35 Year Edition is priced at $400.
