Snow Peak & New Balance Team Up For A Technical Fishing Gear Collection

After embarking on its first collaborative capsule collection in late 2019, outdoor gear purveyors, Snow Peak has once again joined forces with New Balance TDS (or TOKYO DESIGN STUDIO) to unleash a new angler-themed collection just in time for the upcoming fall season.

Christened the “Niobium Capsule Collection,” the new product range blends existing styles with more fisherman-friendly features and materials. Named after the chemical element (which is also known as “columbium” and has a higher melting point than platinum), the capsule is anchored by the TDS Niobium Concept 1, which is a ruggedized and waterproof version of New Balance’s MT801 trail running shoe. The shoe utilizes the brand’s eVent material and features toe hooks that can be connected to a set of eVent-constructed gaiters that are also part of the collection. The new capsule also boasts a set of eVent waders, a multi-pocket fishing vest, and numerous t-shirts and shorts, though the latter two of which will be exclusively reserved for the Japanese market. Pricing has yet to be announced on any of the Snow Peak × TDS New Balance Niobium Capsule Collection, though it’s slated for a release on August 29th.
