There are plenty of iconic movie cars and replicas in the world, many of which are so unique that they can be recognized instantly. One of those iconic rides is the 1977 Pontiac Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit, which is going up for auction soon.
While the majority of the other Trans Ams used in the film were badly damaged (you’ve seen the stunts, right?), this gem served as a promo car, safely guarded by large men. Because it was never used to film, it still has its original drivetrain in tact. It has a 400ci TA 6.6 engine with a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. It comes with a slew of documents and proofs of authenticity, including a Universal Studios certificate containing its VIN, a plaque from GM, and original studio press kits. Not to mention, buyers will receive a title signed by star Burt Reynolds. [Purchase]
