Some things just make you want to become an aficionado of some sort. Whether it is a great experience at a bar that prompts you to explore new spirits, or a good cup of coffee that does the same – it happens to all of us at some point. This chair by El Purista, for instance, has us feeling like we need to get to be a little more familiar with the world of cigars.
Rodrigo Gonzalez and Alexander Sauer (architect and lawyer who came together to build this chair) followed the philosophy of Charles Eames throughout the process of making this chair by always placing the needs of the user at the forefront of their considerations. Simple and elegantly designed, each of the chair’s armrests slides out to reveal a compartment where you can keep your cigars, matches, and other smoker’s utensils until you are ready to use them. The beech wood that makes up the structure of this chair is upholstered with an environmentally friendly aniline leather that hasn’t been treated with any artificial pigments so as to preserve the original character of the material. The chair doesn’t have a published price, but you can head over to El Purista’s website to request more information. [Purchase]
