SmartMat Yoga Mat

Yoga mats, generally speaking, aren’t very smart. We saw one on Jeopardy! last week and it missed both of its daily doubles. But all things evolve, and the introduction of the SmartMat means the yoga mat’s time has come.

With the help of high-tech sensors and an app on your Android or iOS device, you’ll get plenty of feedback on your alignment, balance, and poses. The three available modes let you use it at home, while in a public class, or in “Zen mode,” which doesn’t interrupt you with any feedback while you’re in the moment, but records your session and lets you know how you did later. With downloadable lessons you can also teach yourself new moves, but sadly, not the ability to look sexy in yoga pants. [Purchase]
