We’ve seen numerous eVTOL startups garner headlines in recent years, but that doesn’t make a new concept any less interesting. That said, London-based company Skyfly has shown off the Axe, its stunning two-seat aircraft.

The customer eVTOL is powered by a 48kWh dual battery and equipped with a quartet of propellors, paving the way for a top cruising speed of 100mph and a 100-mile range. However, Its optional hybrid generator system comes courtesy of Rortron, extending the eVTOL’s by charging it mid-flight, which ultimately allows you to enjoy it for up to 100 extra miles. Considering this small-scale concept is aimed toward short traveling short distances, this will hold up just fine.

The Axe’s advanced flight control system is powered by Embention’s Vetonte 4x, designed to have optimized redundancy and avoid any point of malfunctioning, resulting in a smooth flight from start to finish. Compositionally, the eVTOL measures nearly 16.5-feet long, weighs 1,323 pounds, and is capable of carrying up to 379 pounds. Additionally, notable upgrades include a ballistic parachute, an extra battery pack, and the aforementioned hybrid range extender.

Skyfly is currently taking reservations for the Axe eVTOL and expects to deliver the innovative eVTOL in the summer of 2024. In the meantime, the pre-order price is $1,600, with a 10% deposit of $17,391 collected upon Skyfly’s completion of the aircraft.

Purchase: $1,600+
