An Impressive Batch Of Rare Porsches Is Heading To Auction At Silverstone

It isn’t every day that a rare and highly desirable Porsche goes up for auction, and that’s what makes Silverstone Auctions’ upcoming Classic Sale so special. The UK-based auction house will be taking bids on no fewer than five Stuttgart stunners, and some lucky collectors are going to be left very happy.

The star of the show is arguably a 1993 964 Turbo S “Leichtbau.” This “light build” version of the early ‘90s 911 Turbo was limited to 86 total examples, and this is one of just 11 RHD versions. Not only that, but it’s effectively brand new, with just 45 miles logged on the odometer. It’s expected to fetch north of $1 million. Next on the rung is a 1973 911 RST. Considered one of the greatest Porsche road cars ever, the RST was the homologation version of the 911 RSR Group 5 racer. This example is finished in stunning tangerine and is appraised as being in “collector quality.” It, too, may claim over $1 million. Also on the block is a rare 1986 930 Turbo SE Flatnose, a beautifully-restored 1972 911T 2.4, and — the bargain of the bunch — a true barn find 1965 356C 1600 Super that was discovered after nearly 44 years in dry storage that could sell for less than $30,000. The live auction will take place on July 31, and you can register your interest now at Silverstone Auctions’ website.
