The prominent Detroit watch company Shinola and Disney are teaming up to launch a capsule collection honoring 90 years of the famed king of the Disney domain: Mickey Mouse. The collaboration is a part of a worldwide celebration of “Mickey the True Original,” praising the heritage, personality, and pop icon status of the world’s most famous mouse.
The main draw of the incredible Mickey Classics collection are the Runwell watches with illustrations by Disney’s character artist Jeff Shelly. Every single illustration was drawn especially for these five Shinola timepieces and inspired by legendary Mickey Mouse moments, including the mouse’s appearance in Steamboat Willie. Each timepiece style will be limited to 90 examples and every one comes with five framed sketches of Mickey Mouse, as well as a special edition Shinola sketchbook, including a “How to Draw Mickey” instructional booklet. The collection also includes a leather Runwell backpack, a Runwell turntable limited to 31 examples, a Runwell clock, and much more. The collection will be available on November 16.
