Ford, Shelby, and Superperformance have all teamed up in celebration of the GT40’s 50th anniversary of its 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans to release a limited edition of the GT40 MKII.
The celebratory car will celebrate the car and the top three placers in the race, Bruce McLaren, Ken Miles, and Dan Gurney, and they’ll release in a limited run, with an original car being put up for auction starting January 27. The new limited edition vehicles will offer an exact replica of the chassis, color schemes (black with silver stripes, blue with white stripes, and red with white stripes), and engine layout of the three vehicles that took the top 3 spots in the race 50 years ago. The 50th Anniversary GT40s will all come with special gold 50th anniversary Shelby badges, logos, and features. [Purchase]
