Shelby 50th Anniversary Super Snake
To celebrate half a century of innovation and petrol-induced adrenaline since Carroll Shelby first introduced the Shelby Super Snake back in 1967, Shelby American Inc. released their 50th Anniversary model last week at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction. It’s set to be based on only 500 of the 2017 Ford Mustang GT’s and serve as a commemorative piece to Carroll’s bold and experimental spirit.
Under the hood, this commemorative Super Snake packs a venomous punch thanks to a 5.0-liter V8 with forced induction and optional superchargers for a combined output of 750 horsepower. With such power, this beast hits 60 mph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds and hits a quarter mile in under 11 seconds. The ride also boasts some painted stripes on the body in addition to exclusive Shelby Integrated LED lamp assemblies. She also cruises atop a set of 20” forged aluminum wheels, an upgraded suspension, and remains aerodynamic with a little help from newly designed body panels. Pricing starts at $70,000. [Purchase]
