Though Harley-Davidson’s e-bike offshoot Serial 1 has been at it for less than a year now, the brand is already disrupting the industry in a big way. With its latest offering, for instance, Serial 1 breaks new ground for electric bicycles, proving that they can be, of all things, actually cool.
It’s called the ‘MOSH/CHOPPER,’ and it makes for the first installment in Serial 1’s ‘1-OFF’ custom series. Built by seasoned chopper craftsmen Warren Heir, Jr. and Kendall Lutchman of JR’s Fabrication and Welding in Milwaukee, it’s technically a MOSH/CTY at its core. As such, it features the same Gates Carbon belt drive, Brose electric motor, TRP hydraulic brakes, and integrated lighting, albeit packaged in a radically different 60s-inspired aesthetic. At the front, it’s been given a set of high-rise ape hangers for a relaxed, laid-back riding position. Elsewhere, you’ll find an old-school banana seat, along with a custom stainless-steel sissy bar and some freak drops. Finished off in a retro Oriental Blue Kandy “Street Freak” paint job with hand pinstriping and lettering, it’s truly a sight to see. It’ll be auctioned off on August 10th, with further 1-OFF bikes to be coming down the line.
