3 Auto & Solar Seiko Dive Watches Get The Blacked-Out Treatment

Of the many Japanese watch brands out there, there’s no denying the incredible impact that Seiko has had on the horological world. And many of their best offerings can be found in their Prospex collection, including this trio of limited-edition dive watches that have gotten the blacked-out treatment as inspired by the “dramatic and mysterious” qualities of the ocean after dark.

Called simply the Black Series, the collection is comprised of the SLA035J1, SPB125J1, and SSC761J1. The first boasts a deep ocean-inspired red-accented dial and matching seconds hand, automatic movement 300m water-resistance rating, and zirconia ceramic bezel. The second is a take on the brand’s ever-lauded ‘Sumo’ diver with an orange minute hand with matching dial markers, automatic movement, and 200m water-resistance rating. And the third, the only chronograph of the group, boasts the same orange minute hand and dial markers as the previous but has a solar-powered movement, a trio of sub-dials, and an off-set date window. Available in February, the watches will be priced at $2,725, $815, and $690, respectively.
