Scrubby Bay Farmhouse in New Zealand
After spending more than three decades here in the states, Mark Palmer decided it was time to return to his native home of New Zealand. And after you see this stunning Scrubby Bay Farmhouse, you’ll know exactly why.
Looking for a place to truly get away from it all and unwind, Palmer bought a 4,000 acre farm on Bank Peninsula, and decided to restore the cottage currently situated on the land. With the help of architect Patterson Associates, Palmer sought out a residence that was classic, rustic and had a contemporary touch thrown into the mix, all without throwing off the timeless nature of the bay. The end result was an absolute home run, executed perfectly by Patterson. The all new farmhouse is simple, yet beautiful. The 3 bedroom dwelling is located on an isolated bay with access to 10 kilometers of coastline. [Photography: Simon Devitt]
