Hookie Co.’s Latest Bolt-On Moto Kit Was Inspired By A Nike Trail Running Shoe

On top of routinely churning out world-class one-off motorcycles with an unmistakable factory finish, Germany’s Hookie Co. has steadily been releasing a growing number of wildly transformative bolt-on body kits for custom-friendly models like BMW’s R nineT and Yamaha’s XSR700. Just in time for the new year, the Dresden-based custom moto shop has now unleashed its first bolt-on kit for the Scrambler Ducati Desert Sled, christened the “Scorpion.”

Made from AE12—an environmentally-friendly material created via a 3D printing process—and using the Ducati’s stock mounting points, the kit was inspired by Nike’s ACG Air Zoom AO, a rugged daily-use sneaker appropriate for both metro streets and mountain summits, along with some supplementary influence from ‘90s science fiction and anime. As such, this sportier take on the Desert Sled is intended for on and off-road use. The kit includes new rally-themed tank covers that rest over the stock items while housing a vertical LED strip headlight on either side, plus a modern take on rear number boards, and a circular headlight housing holding a Koso Thunderbolt headlight. Hookie will be building 10 units in total, all with different paint schemes and accessories, the first of which (seen here) is known as “Confident Purple.” To learn more or to place an order for a kit you can check out Hookie Co.’s website linked below.
