Nothing says ‘getting away’ like going to one of the most southern-points in the world, Tasmania. The beautiful island state located just south of mainland Australia is far from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Australian state is beautiful in its own right, nearly covered by parks and wildlife throughout. On its southern shore – the state is run through by large rivers and channels, and in one of those channels sits the secluded Satellite Island.
Almost totally untouched, this island in the middle of D ‘Entrecasteaux Channel, once the home of a hermit poet, writer, and painter. The getaway is now outfitted with wonderful little houses from which you can get panoramic views of the southern hemisphere’s wild landscape. This small island is chock full of beauty to explore – whether you get there via plane, helicopter, or boat, it is a wonderful place to end up. [Via: Bless This Stuff]
