Sanborn Prospector Canoe

Category: Gear

Quite literally born out of a hobby to build a legitimate cedar-strip canoe to explore the lake and river abundant lands of Northern Minnesota, the Sanborn Canoe Company knows a thing or two about quality outdoor gear. Now, they’re finally positioned to begin offering production versions of the Propsector Canoe – utilizing that same ethos and attention to detail that got them started on the right foot years ago.

Each canoe is built using both contemporary and traditional materials to ensure a multigenerational heirloom piece. Materials such as carbon fiber, kevlar, fiberglass, cherry ribs, canned seats and cherry hardwood all makeup the construction of each canoe. The Prospector measures in at 16 feet in length, and is crafted with care right here in the United States – built to handle the abuse surrounding extended backcountry canoe camping adventures. And did we mention that gorgeous paint job? Prices start at $3,825. [Purchase]
