Samsung’s Curved 49″ Gaming Monitor Uses LED Tech From Its Neo TVs

Well, it’s been a little over a year since Samsung launched its last curved gaming monitor — the Odyssey G9 — but already the tech giant is back for more. And while the outgoing model proved to be one of the largest and most immersive offerings on the market, its successor promises to be markedly better in every way.

It’s called the Odyssey Neo G9, and, in keeping with its naming conventions, it retains a familiar 49″ curved display. This time around, however, the monitor makes use of the same Mini LED technology Samsung employs in its Neo QLED TVs. As such, it’s effectively twice as bright as the OG G9, peaking at 2,000 nits of brightness and providing 2,048 individual dimming zones, a 1,000,00:1 contrast ratio, and some enhanced 12-bit gradation. Considering that it still manages to bring the same lightning-fast 240hz refresh rate — along with the 1000R curvature and 32:9 aspect ratio — those are some truly impressive specs indeed. Housed in a glossy white finish with a futuristic rear infinity core lighting system, you can pre-order it now for $2,500.

Purchase: $2,500+
