This Dyneema Tent Was Built For The World’s Most Extreme Arctic Conditions
Though Samaya has only existed for a handful of years, the fledgling French outdoor brand has already earned a well-deserved reputation for producing tents and other outdoor gear staples that are engineered for use in some of the world’s most hostile and unforgiving locales. And for 2021, the firm looks to be continuing down this same path with the debut of its most rugged and refined expedition tent to date, the Samaya ASSAUT2 ULTRA.
Boasting 26.9 square feet of space and weighing only 2.16lbs (or 980 grams), this 2021 ISPO Gold Award-winning four-season tent features walls made from a dual-layer laminated Dyeneema composite with an expanded Polytetrafluoroethylene membrane, and floors with CORDURA-reinforced corners and a Dyneema construction sandwiched between two layers of Mylar. Also sporting YKK Aquaguard zippers and ultra-light DAC carbon hoops, the ASSAUT2 ULTRA was designed to be erected in extreme locations including on the side of cliff faces or deep ice crevasses. Sold with a trio of Easton Carbon Ion poles, Swiss Piranha RT90 sardines, and a repair kit, the Samaya ASSAUT2 ULTRA tent is available now with an approximately $1,925 MSRP, though the brand is also selling an accompanying ASSAUT2 Vestibule with the same rugged Dyneema construction for an additional $540.
