Salewa Lite Train Mountain Running Shoe
There aren’t a whole lot of shoes that can strike that balance between being rugged enough to take on backcountry terrain, while still being light enough for you to slide on everyday. This is partly due to the fact that the market for such a shoe is niche, and then partly due to the fact that it is just plain difficult to make a shoe that dynamic. Salewa embraced the challenge, however, and ended up producing the tough and capable Lite Train mountain running shoe.
With an outsole developed in partnership with the tire maker Michelin, this shoe provides an incredible grip while scurrying up and down trails without having to compromise on weight. A light outsole is only part of the reason this shoe comes in at a featherweight 9 ounces, however. Salewa’s 3F Total System upper provides a structured and close fit while managing to be incredibly thin and breathable. All things said, these shoes are so good you can essentially forget they’re even there and instead focus on pushing your training to the next level. Each pair retails for $130. [Purchase]
