Since its inception in 2016, Roofnest has established itself as one of the leaders in the rooftop tent game, with the Colorado-based brand’s catalog including more than half-a-dozen popular models, as well as a host of accessories. And, much like it’s previously done with its Condor and Falcon models, Roofnest has now introduced an XL version of its Sparrow unit.
Building on the successful foundation of the regular Sparrow model, the new-for-2020 XL-spec is made from even more rugged materials and affords more headroom and interior volume thanks to the Sparrow XL being a full 8” wider than its predecessor. Large enough to comfortably accommodate two adults and a child or dog, the pop-up tent itself is constructed from a waterproof-yet-breathable 280-gram polyester-cotton canvas with reinforced corners. The Sparrow XL also boasts an area that holds a 160W flexible solar panel, plus a new storage area directly behind the solar panel housing that was made specifically to accommodate the waterproof storage bag that is included with the tent. Other features include marine-grade struts and heavy-duty hinges, a built-in 3” foam mattress with an anti-condensation mat, and a detachable pocket system for shoes. Priced at $3,095, the Sparrow XL is available now.
