Rolex Deepsea D-Blue Dial Edition

It must be good to be James Cameron. The man behind Titanic and Avatar is obviously extremely talented and wealthy, but then things like this come along: a Rolex made in his honor.

Paying tribute to Cameron’s record-breaking 2012 solo dive into the Marianas Trench (the deepest part of any ocean anywhere) is this special-edition Deepsea D-Blue Dial, based on the Rolex Sea-Dweller Deepsea 116660 watch. We love the styling, with the deep blue to black dial that symbolizes the ocean’s hues as one dives further down. The “DEEPSEA” green print on the dial is a nod to Cameron’s Deepsea Challenger vessel. The watch also features a titanium caseback, helium escape valve and a patented Ringlock system that helps the watch resist the pressure that comes with depths up to 12,800 feet. No word yet on a price. [Purchase]
