After achieving a good deal of success in a heavily modified Land Rover Series I race truck in the mid-1980s, Drew Bowler began receiving orders and commissions from other off-road competitors interested in piloting one of their own Bowler-built high-performance racers, ultimately leading to the inception of Bowler Manufacturing. Despite Drew sadly passing away in late 2016, the Derbyshire-based race shop continues carrying out his vision through the preparation of increasingly competent Land Rover-based race platforms.
Acquiring a genuine Bowler LR typically requires forking over an exorbitant amount of cash and dealing with a multi-year waitlist, and while that first aspect hasn’t changed, the general public is now not only being offered a fast-track to Bowler ownership but is also being given the opportunity to obtain one of a handful of extremely noteworthy Bowler specimens at RM Sotheby’s forthcoming Paris auction sale on February 13, 2021. In addition to the 2010 SVX “Spectre” Defender featured in the 2015 James Bond flick, a 2015 XS Hardtop, a 2013 Hardtop TD “Challenge,” and a 2015 Landmark XS, the Bowler Collection also includes a trio of the UK outfit’s prototype V6 and V8 race machines. The entire collection is also being offered without reserve prices. For more information on the sale, you can check out the link below.
