It seems that collaborative collections these days are epitomizing Murphy’s Law to an increasing degree. If two companies can collaborate with each other, they will. In an amazing clash of disparate worlds, famous LA-based clothing brand, RHUDE, has joined forces with cookware giant Instant Brands to create the LATE SUMMER cookware collection. The capsule features one-of-a-kind pieces that exist as “limited edition usable art”.
RHUDE founder Rhuigi Villaseñor came up with the name LATE SUMMER as a way to honor his late mother who taught him how to cook. Each item of the eye-catching collection draws inspiration from Villaseñor’s childhood. The 6-quart Instant Pot Pro Multi-Use Pressure Cooker features RHUDE’s iconic design on the classic pressure cooker that Villaseñor and his family would crowd around while making dinner. The reimagined 15-piece Corelle dinnerware set included in the collection is a nod to the Corelle plates that he and his family ate off of throughout this childhood. Moreover, these new plates are made out of 80% recycled extra-strength Vitrelle glass, which provides a sustainable, durable, and stylish option for anyone looking for a good-looking dinnerware set. For cutting and prepping their ingredients, Villaseñor reimagined the design of his mom’s Chicago Cutlery chef knife to feature a high-carbon, stainless steel blade featuring the classic, triple-rivet design and a black walnut handle. It also features a patented pinch grip for a comfortable hold with professional-caliber handling. Rounding out the collection are the redesigned Pyrex 4-cup glass storage container and 2-cup measuring cup that his family used to store leftovers. The storage container and cup feature the bright yellow RHUDE design that is made with a durable tempered glass construction that won’t stain or absorb odors.
While it may be unexpected, the RHUDE x Instant Brand LATE SUMMER collection is as eye-catching, unique, and practical as it is heartwarming and sentimental. The LATE SUMMER collection goes on sale on November 1 and will be available on both brands’ sites starting at $60.
