For the 2021 running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, French watchmaker Reservoir has announced that it will be backing the IDEC Sport team in the LMP2 prototype class. To commemorate the occasion, Reservoir will be producing a limited run of its Swiss-made jumping hour GT Tour watch.
Limited to 24 units worldwide, the GT Tour Carbon IDEC Sport Edition 2021 features a 43mm matte forged carbon fiber case housing a self-winding mechanical movement with a 37-hour power reserve and Reservoir’s signature jumping hour complication. The watch’s dark grey sandblast dial is modeled after cockpit tachometers and the hole-punched leather band it comes paired with also draws influence from the world of motorsport. However, what really makes each of these two-dozen watches special is the fact that each specimen will be carried aboard the IDEC Sport team’s #48 car for the entire duration of the 24-hour endurance race. What’s more, each watch also includes a one-day VIP pass for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans, as well as an additional Nato strap and a miniature replica model of the IDEC Sport team’s LMP2 Oreca racer. Scheduled to ship in September, the Reservoir GT Tour Carbon IDEC Sport Edition 2021 is available now with pricing set at $8,600.
