Haven’t heard of Alpine before? Well you probably will be much more familiar in the coming year. The European car company has been around since 1955 and has been a part of Renault since 1973, and now they’re near finishing the process of releasing a throwback-like mini supercar.
This concept is, by Alpine’s own estimate, about 80% of what the car will actually look like when it’s produced. That’s good news because this thing is gorgeous – with a short speedy look to it that brings to mind sports cars from the 1960s, more specifically Renault’s own Alpine A110 Berlinette. This is all rumor at this point – but some of the numbers gear-heads in the know have been batting around include a sprint time of around 4.5 seconds (0-62 mph), a 1.8-liter version of the Clio RS’ turbocharged engine, and a curb weight of around 2,200 pounds. Whatever the end product- we’re excited to see this car roll off the production line.
