While the expansive nature of the cycling bags sector has allowed for an enormous number of available offerings, the vast majority of the bags on the market are primarily targeted towards long-distance riding, rather than containers designed for hauling your daily essentials on your commute. Recognizing the need for a durable, commuter-focused range of cycling bags, REI has stepped up to the plate with the new Junction Collection.
Comprised of four different items — a top tube bag, a handlebar bar, a seat bag, and a large pannier — each bag in the collection is made from rugged, abrasion-resistant, DWR-treated Oxford nylon. These bags are also made using bluesign-approved materials. Designed with city riding in mind, all four bags are also weatherproof and feature reflective logos and loops. Furthermore, the 18″ L x 12″ W pannier — which offers a generous 22-liters of storage space while still weighing less than 2lbs — is sold with an included bright orange-colored rain cover with a large reflective logo. Pricing for the collection starts at $30 for the Junction Top Tube Bag and goes up to $90 for the Junction Pannier.
