Headquartered out of Carlsbad, California, REEF has long been an immensely popular surf and lifestyle brand. And now, for the first time in the company’s 37-year-history, REEF has set out to deliver the ultimate premium sandal, resulting in the debut of its all-new Paipo model.
Made entirely by hand using some of the finest materials available, the Paipo Sandals are built around a stabilizing hand-worked wooden frame that’s been paired with hand-stitched toe posts adorned in full-grain leather and Braskem EVA foam midsoles with a high anatomic arch that are carbon neutral and partially derived from sugarcane. In addition to sporting genuine metal logo branding, these sustainably-made sandals also boast laser-etched full-grain leather that’s been ethically sourced from tanneries with Gold or Silver ratings from the Leather Working Group. The end result is an heirloom-quality pair of sandals that are expected to last for decades, if not generations. Offered in black or brown color options, the REEF Paipo Sandals are priced at $150 and are slated for a release on August 24, 2021.
