Reebok Is Bringing Back Dee Brown’s Iconic ’90s Pumps After 30 Years

The year was 1991. Terminator 2 introduced the phrase “Hasta la vista, baby” into the pop culture lexicon. A young M.C. Hammer informed us that his excessive legitimacy prevented him from quitting. And Dee Brown won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest with his eyes closed thanks to his Reebok Pumps. Now, to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the former Boston Celtic’s feat, Reebok is bringing back Brown’s shoes with the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II.

The new sneakers look just like the originals, offering legitimate ‘90s style. And since they also include Reebok Pump technology, you’re getting the latest in early ‘90s innovation, too. In addition to their sweet retro looks and the novelty of the fit-tightening pump, the Pump Omni Zone II is actually a pretty functional sneaker — Reebok even classifies them as a basketball shoe. These kicks have an upper made of leather with textile and synthetic hits, while a flamboyant TPU cage holds your foot in place. Cushioning comes via some more old-school Reebok tech with tried-and-true Hexalite in the midsole keeping things comfy. So get pumped, as Reebok is releasing the Pump Omni Zone II on March 4.
