When Reebok partnered with CrossFit back in 2011, it launched the Nano, a versatile shoe intended to handle everything from quick sprints to clean and jerks. With each iteration, it’s only become increasingly tailored to training, gaining additions like a wider toe box, structured overlays, and a grippy lug pattern. Having dropped the 10th version late last spring, the brand is back again with an update that’s set make it more capable than ever before.
Meet the Nano X1, a model Reebok is billing as the “official shoe of fitness.” In other words, whether you’re hammering out a HIIT session, squatting a heavy single, or scrambling up a rope climb, the X1 has your back. Underfoot, it features Reebok’s Floatride Energy midsole, a cushioning material that gives it the response of a running shoe with the control of a trainer. And for the first time ever, customers will have the option to choose their upper material at launch. Available in both Flexweave Knit and Flexweave Grit, the former makes for maximum breathability while the latter is designed to be ultra-durable. Reebok UNLOCKED members will be able to buy it for $130 on January 29th, with a wider release scheduled for February 3rd.
