Riding a motorcycle in a big city is always a gamble, and with more and more adversarial challenges arising for commuters each day, it’s up to heritage motorcycle brands to heed the call for innovative safety equipment. Rare Bird London is one such company, conceptualizing a world where road-ready warriors can face the elements head-on and battle airborne pollutants in the process.
The London-based company has made a name for itself through the design of an iconic facemask, providing the ultimate in winter (and summer) riding protection for their motorcycling brethren. Their most recent product, the Metallic Cotton Face Mask, was built for use within some of the biggest cities around the globe, utilizing a heavyweight cotton and brown suede structure that screens nuisance dust and pollution prior to inhalation by the wearer. The mask has been approved by the UK’s Ministry of Defence and features an interchangeable air filter that uses carbon cloth and sub-micron filtration to block particles all the way down to 2.5 microns in size. A waterproof and weatherproof silhouette provides the perfect utilitarian angle for everyday use, while a variety of classic colors, sizes, and designs help to keep the fashionable piece of road-wear up-to-date with current moto trends.
