Take To The Dirt With Rapha’s Premium 3D-Woven Carbon-Plated Off-Road Bike Shoe

As far as cycling shoes go, road-oriented models are pretty straightforward, because they’re designed for one purpose and one purpose only: efficient clipped-in pedaling. However, when it comes to those that are intended for gravel or trail applications, you also have to take things into account like walkability, grip, and weather-resistance. Suffice to say — it’s a difficult combination to get right.

But with the launch of its all-new Explore Powerweave Shoe, Rapha has managed to deliver the complete package. That’s because it features an innovative 3D-woven upper made from the brand’s proprietary Powerweave fabric and reinforced with a robust TPU yarn. In practice, this means that in addition to offering a comfortable sock-like feel, it’s also incredibly tough and weather-resistant. And when you consider that it comes complemented by an incremental BOAT Li2 dial platform and an adjustable toe strap, the resulting combination ensures a secure, foot-tailored fit. Underneath, you’ll find a lightweight carbon fiber footplate that’s stiff enough for maximum power transfer yet just flexible enough to make walking a non-issue. Finished off with a grippy rubber outsole and a set of adjustable arch supports, this is one cycling shoe that’s a clear cut above the rest.
